My mother was a person of true faith, and attended masses all over the world. Wherever she was, from Kenya to Fiji, she prayed for and helped those who needed it most. She was, and will always be an inspiration to me.

This site is a tribute to Gerard McCabe of Washington, formerly of Jarrow. Gerard passed peacefully after a long illness on 8th September 2022 aged 83 years. A beloved husband of Theresa, dearly loved father of Margaret, Martin & Katharine and also a dear father in law, grandad, brother and uncle.He is sadly missed and will always be remembered.

On 10th August 2022 peacefully in hospital aged 89 years.Beloved husband of the late Winifred Ruth, Much loved father of Sue, Dawn & Karen, son of the late Rowland & Mabel, brother of Anne Clarke & son in law of the late Oakley & Doll Nicholls. Will be sadly missed by family & friends.
Mum was a kind and thoughtful person & always put others needs ahead of her own. Sadly, mum lost her daughter Patricia, when she was only 13 days old & always felt very sad to see mothers struggling to keep their babies & children alive. Mum had very little growing up in Eire but was always willing to welcome those less fortunate into her home.
